India has expressed deep concern over the theft of a religious artifact from the Jeshoreshwari Kali Temple in Bangladesh. The stolen item, a crown gifted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit in 2021, was taken from the temple in Satkhira. The Indian High Commission in Dhaka urged the Bangladeshi government to swiftly investigate, recover the crown, and punish the culprits. The theft, caught on CCTV, occurred after the temple’s priest had left for the day. The stolen crown, made of silver and gold, held significant religious and diplomatic value, symbolizing India’s connection to the temple.
The incident has sparked calls for a more thorough investigation, with both countries working together to resolve the issue. Bangladesh authorities have already initiated efforts to track down the perpetrators.
