The Maha Kumbh Mela, considered the world’s largest spiritual gathering, began on January 13, 2025, in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Devotees from India and abroad are congregating at the Triveni Sangam—the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers—to take a holy dip, believed to cleanse them spiritually.
Despite the biting cold, foreign devotees are enthusiastically participating in the event. Francisco, a first-time visitor from Brazil, said, “The water is cold, but the heart is filled with warmth.”
A devotee from Spain described it as a “fortunate experience,” while another from South Africa called it “an extraordinary encounter with Sanatan Dharma.”
Held every 12 years, the event is expected to witness over 450 million participants this year. To ensure safety, Rapid Action Force (RAF), police, and CRPF personnel have been deployed extensively.
The Maha Kumbh Mela will continue until February 26, offering pilgrims opportunities to engage in a variety of spiritual practices and rituals.

कड़ाके की ठंड के बावजूद, विदेशी भक्त इस आयोजन में उत्साह से भाग ले रहे हैं। ब्राजील से पहली बार आए फ्रांसिस्को ने कहा, “पानी ठंडा है, लेकिन दिल में गर्माहट है।
स्पेन की एक भक्त ने इसे “सौभाग्यशाली अनुभव” बताया, वहीं दक्षिण अफ्रीका के एक श्रद्धालु ने इसे “सनातन धर्म का अद्भुत अनुभव” करार दिया।
हर 12 साल में आयोजित होने वाले इस मेले में इस बार 45 करोड़ से अधिक भक्तों के शामिल होने की उम्मीद है। सुरक्षा के लिए रैपिड एक्शन फोर्स (RAF), पुलिस और सीआरपीएफ की तैनाती की गई है।
यह मेला 26 फरवरी तक चलेगा, जिसमें भक्त विभिन्न आध्यात्मिक अनुष्ठानों में भाग ले सकते हैं।
