Israel’s Ambassador to India, Reuven Azar, strongly criticized Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei’s comments on the treatment of minorities in India. Khamenei, in a recent speech, mentioned the “suffering” of Muslims in places like Gaza, Myanmar, and India. Azar called these remarks “ridiculous” and “hypocritical,” pointing out that Iran itself is accused of severe human rights violations, including the suppression of religious freedoms and free speech.
Azar expressed that it was outrageous for Khamenei to lecture other nations while Iran continues to oppress its own citizens. He also highlighted the strong partnership between India and Israel, particularly in sectors like water management, where Israeli technology is helping India tackle key challenges.
India’s Ministry of External Affairs also rejected Khamenei’s comments, calling them “misinformed and unacceptable” and urging countries like Iran to reflect on their own human rights records before criticizing others.

भारत में इजरायल के राजदूत, रेवेन अजार ने ईरान के सर्वोच्च नेता अयातुल्लाह खामेनेई द्वारा भारत में अल्पसंख्यकों के साथ किए जा रहे बर्ताव पर की गई टिप्पणी की कड़ी आलोचना की। खामेनेई ने हाल ही में दिए एक भाषण में गाजा, म्यांमार और भारत में मुस्लिमों के “दुःख” का उल्लेख किया। इस पर अजार ने प्रतिक्रिया देते हुए इन टिप्पणियों को “हास्यास्पद” और “पाखंडी” बताया। उन्होंने कहा कि ईरान खुद मानवाधिकारों का उल्लंघन करने के आरोपों से घिरा हुआ है, जिसमें धार्मिक स्वतंत्रता और अभिव्यक्ति की स्वतंत्रता का दमन शामिल है।
अजार ने कहा कि यह बेहद असंगत है कि खामेनेई अन्य देशों को उपदेश दे रहे हैं जबकि उनका अपना देश अपने नागरिकों पर अत्याचार कर रहा है। उन्होंने भारत और इजरायल के बीच गहरे संबंधों का भी उल्लेख किया, खासकर जल प्रबंधन जैसे क्षेत्रों में, जहां इजरायली तकनीक भारत को महत्वपूर्ण चुनौतियों से निपटने में मदद कर रही है।
भारत के विदेश मंत्रालय ने भी खामेनेई की टिप्पणियों को “गुमराह करने वाली और अस्वीकार्य” बताते हुए उन्हें खारिज कर दिया और कहा कि ईरान जैसे देशों को दूसरों पर टिप्पणी करने से पहले अपने मानवाधिकार रिकॉर्ड पर विचार करना चाहिए।
