A recent coordinated attack involving exploding pagers in Lebanon, which targeted Hezbollah, has raised concerns about the devices’ origin. The pagers, which exploded simultaneously, injured thousands and killed at least nine people. Initially, the pagers were thought to be made by Taiwanese firm Gold Apollo, but the company clarified that the devices were actually manufactured by BAC Consulting, a Hungarian company authorized to use their brand.
Gold Apollo stated that their involvement was limited to providing branding, and they had no part in the design or production of the pagers. The attack, suspected to be an Israeli operation, intensified the already tense situation between Hezbollah and Israel, renewing fears of escalating conflict in the region.
