SEBI (Securities and Exchange Board of India) Chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch and her husband Dhaval Buch have firmly denied the allegations made by Hindenburg Research in a recent report. The report accused them of holding stakes in offshore funds connected to the Adani Group, which were allegedly involved in financial misconduct.
In a joint statement, the couple dismissed the claims as “baseless” and “devoid of any truth,” emphasizing that their finances are transparent and fully disclosed to SEBI over the years. They expressed their willingness to share any financial documents, even from the time before Madhabi Puri Buch took her public role, with any authority that requests them.
The Buchs also criticized Hindenburg Research for what they described as an attempt at character assassination, especially given that SEBI had previously taken enforcement action against the research firm.
A detailed statement from the couple is expected to be released soon to further address the allegations.

इस पर प्रतिक्रिया देते हुए बुच दंपति ने संयुक्त बयान में इन आरोपों को “निराधार” और “सत्य से परे” बताया। उन्होंने जोर देकर कहा कि उनके वित्तीय विवरण पूरी तरह से पारदर्शी हैं और वर्षों से सेबी के साथ साझा किए गए हैं। वे किसी भी प्राधिकरण के सामने किसी भी वित्तीय दस्तावेज़ को प्रस्तुत करने के लिए तैयार हैं, चाहे वह दस्तावेज़ उनके सार्वजनिक भूमिका ग्रहण करने से पहले का ही क्यों न हो।
बुच दंपति ने हिंडनबर्ग रिसर्च की आलोचना करते हुए इसे उनकी चरित्र हत्या का प्रयास बताया, खासकर तब जब सेबी ने पहले ही इस शोध संस्था के खिलाफ कार्रवाई की थी।
