Heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh have triggered landslides and floods, leading to the closure of 128 roads and disrupting water supplies. The State Emergency Operation Centre reported that 44 power and 67 water supply schemes have also been impacted. The weather office issued an ‘orange’ warning for very heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning on Saturday, with a ‘yellow’ warning for heavy rain lasting until August 16.
Nahan (Sirmaur) experienced the highest rainfall at 168.3 mm since Friday evening, followed by Sandhole with 106.4 mm. Areas like Nagrota Suriyan and Jubberhatti also received substantial rain. The weather department has warned of a possible flash flood risk in parts of Mandi, Sirmaur, Shimla, and Kullu districts until Sunday morning.
In response to the orange alert in Hamirpur district, Deputy Commissioner Amarjit Singh has advised residents to stay away from rivers, streams, and trees during bad weather. The state has already recorded over 100 rain-related deaths and suffered losses of Rs 842 crores between June 27 and August 9.

हिमाचल प्रदेश में भारी बारिश के कारण भूस्खलन और बाढ़ की स्थिति उत्पन्न हो गई है, जिससे 128 सड़कों को बंद करना पड़ा है और जल आपूर्ति बाधित हो गई है। राज्य आपातकालीन संचालन केंद्र ने बताया कि 44 बिजली और 67 जल आपूर्ति योजनाएं भी प्रभावित हुई हैं। मौसम विभाग ने शनिवार को बहुत भारी बारिश, गरज और बिजली के लिए ‘ऑरेंज’ चेतावनी जारी की है, और 16 अगस्त तक भारी बारिश के लिए ‘येलो’ चेतावनी दी है।
नाहन (सिरमौर) में शुक्रवार शाम से सबसे अधिक 168.3 मिमी बारिश दर्ज की गई, उसके बाद सधोल में 106.4 मिमी बारिश हुई। नागरोता सुरियां और जुब्बरहट्टी जैसे क्षेत्रों में भी भारी बारिश हुई है। मौसम विभाग ने मंडी, सिरमौर, शिमला और कुल्लू जिलों के कुछ इलाकों में रविवार सुबह तक हल्के से मध्यम फ्लैश बाढ़ की चेतावनी दी है।
हमीरपुर जिले में ‘ऑरेंज’ अलर्ट के चलते उपायुक्त अमरजीत सिंह ने निवासियों से नदियों, नालों और खराब मौसम के दौरान पेड़ों से दूर रहने की अपील की है। राज्य में 27 जून से 9 अगस्त के बीच बारिश से संबंधित घटनाओं में 100 से अधिक लोगों की मौत हो चुकी है और 842 करोड़ रुपये का नुकसान हुआ है।
