California State Senator Marie Alvarado-Gil is facing a lawsuit from her former chief of staff, Chad Condit, who accuses her of sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment. The lawsuit, filed in Sacramento Superior Court, claims that Alvarado-Gil pressured Condit into a sexual relationship, demanding oral sex as a way to prove his loyalty. Condit alleges this led to a back injury after a particular incident in a car, where he suffered herniated discs and a collapsed hip.
.Condit, who had worked on Alvarado-Gil’s campaign before being appointed her chief of staff, also claims that the senator misused her power by involving him in personal tasks, such as taking care of her dog and running errands for her family. He further alleges that Alvarado-Gil shared intimate details about her personal life, escalating to inappropriate sexual advances. Both parties are married, and Condit asserts that his resistance to her demands eventually led to his dismissal
