In the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced that Parvesh Verma, former West Delhi MP and son of ex-Chief Minister Sahib Singh Verma, will contest against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal in the New Delhi constituency.
Kejriwal, who has represented the New Delhi seat since 2013, is seeking re-election for the fourth consecutive term. Verma has expressed confidence in his candidacy, urging Kejriwal not to switch constituencies.
Controversy has arisen with AAP alleging that Verma distributed ₹1,100 to women voters in the constituency, accusing him of attempting to buy votes. Verma has refuted these claims, stating that the funds were provided by ‘Rashtriya Swabhiman’, an NGO founded by his late father, to support needy women until the election model code of conduct is enforced.
The Delhi Assembly elections are scheduled for February 2025, with the New Delhi constituency expected to be a focal point due to this high-profile contest.

दिल्ली विधानसभा चुनाव फरवरी 2025 में होने वाले हैं, और नई दिल्ली सीट इस हाई-प्रोफाइल मुकाबले के कारण चर्चा में रहेगी।
