Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, has announced his plan to step down within the next two days. This decision follows his recent release on bail in the Delhi liquor policy case. Kejriwal made this announcement during a meeting with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders and supporters, where he accused the BJP of trying to undermine his government by sending opposition leaders to jail. He claimed that the BJP had failed in its attempt to break his party and weaken his leadership.
Kejriwal also said that he is leaving it up to the voters of Delhi to decide his future in the upcoming Assembly elections scheduled for February 2025. In the meantime, someone else from AAP will take over his responsibilities as Chief Minister.
This resignation comes amidst increasing political tensions, with Kejriwal positioning his decision as a stand against what he describes as a larger attack on democracy
