Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa was granted six weeks of interim bail by the Karnataka High Court for urgent medical treatment, hours after a decision by the Sessions Court. The bail, approved for spine surgery on medical grounds, includes conditions such as passport surrender to prevent any flight risk. Darshan’s legal team presented evidence of numbness in his feet, requiring surgery at a private Mysuru hospital, which Darshan will fund personally.
Darshan’s case involves the alleged murder of Renukaswamy, a 33-year-old, found deceased in Bengaluru. Authorities claim Darshan, along with co-accused Pavithra Gowda, orchestrated the assault over a personal dispute, reportedly leading to torture and death. Following his arrest in June, Darshan was detained in Ballari Jail, with past allegations of receiving special privileges while in custody. The case remains ongoing, with stringent scrutiny on all conditions set for his temporary release.

कर्नाटक उच्च न्यायालय ने कन्नड़ अभिनेता दर्शन थूगुदीपा को स्वास्थ्य कारणों से छह सप्ताह की अंतरिम जमानत दी है। इस निर्णय के अनुसार, दर्शन को रीढ़ की सर्जरी की आवश्यकता है, जिसके लिए उनकी मेडिकल टीम ने कागजात प्रस्तुत किए। जमानत की शर्तों में उनके पासपोर्ट का समर्पण शामिल है ताकि किसी प्रकार का भगोड़ा जोखिम न हो। यह सर्जरी मैसूरु के एक निजी अस्पताल में होगी, जिसकी व्यवस्था और खर्चा दर्शन स्वयं करेंगे।
यह मामला रेनुकास्वामी नामक 33 वर्षीय व्यक्ति की हत्या से जुड़ा है, जिनका शव बेंगलुरु में मिला था। जांच के अनुसार, दर्शन और सह-अभियुक्त पवित्रा गौड़ा पर आरोप है कि उन्होंने व्यक्तिगत विवाद के चलते रेनुकास्वामी को शारीरिक चोट पहुँचाई, जो उनकी मृत्यु का कारण बनी। जून में गिरफ्तारी के बाद दर्शन को बल्लारी जेल में रखा गया था, जहाँ उनके विशेष सुविधाएं प्राप्त करने के भी आरोप लगाए गए हैं। इस केस की कार्यवाही अब भी जारी है और दर्शन की रिहाई पर कड़ी निगरानी रखी जा रही है।
