The grand Maha Kumbh 2025 began on January 13, coinciding with Paush Purnima in Prayagraj. Despite freezing temperatures, millions of devotees from India and abroad gathered at the holy Sangam, where the Ganga, Yamuna, and mythical Saraswati rivers converge, to take the auspicious first dip.
The Uttar Pradesh government has made extensive preparations for this mega event. The bathing area at the Sangam has been doubled, allowing up to two lakh devotees to bathe every hour. Tight security arrangements have been implemented, with police forces stationed at every corner to ensure safety.
The first royal bath saw sadhus and saints leading the traditional holy dip, followed by the general public. Alongside bathing, the ghats were abuzz with religious rituals, hymns, and charity activities, creating a spiritually charged atmosphere.
The grandeur of the first bath at Maha Kumbh reflects the deep-rooted devotion and cultural richness of India. Millions of pilgrims are expected to visit Prayagraj in the coming days for the subsequent bathing festivals.

महाकुंभ 2025 का शुभारंभ 13 जनवरी को पौष पूर्णिमा के अवसर पर प्रयागराज में हुआ। कड़ाके की ठंड के बावजूद, भारत और विदेश से लाखों श्रद्धालु पवित्र संगम पर एकत्रित हुए, जहां गंगा, यमुना और पौराणिक सरस्वती नदियों का संगम होता है। श्रद्धालुओं ने इस शुभ अवसर पर पहला पवित्र स्नान किया।
उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार ने इस भव्य आयोजन के लिए व्यापक तैयारियां की हैं। संगम क्षेत्र को दोगुना बढ़ाया गया है, जिससे हर घंटे दो लाख श्रद्धालु स्नान कर सकें। सुरक्षा के कड़े इंतजाम किए गए हैं, और चप्पे-चप्पे पर पुलिस बल तैनात है।
पहले शाही स्नान के दौरान, साधु-संतों ने परंपरागत रूप से सबसे पहले डुबकी लगाई, जिसके बाद आम जनता ने स्नान किया। स्नान के साथ-साथ घाटों पर धार्मिक अनुष्ठान, भजन-कीर्तन और दान-पुण्य के कार्यक्रम भी आयोजित किए गए, जिससे माहौल भक्तिमय हो गया।
महाकुंभ के पहले स्नान की भव्यता भारतीय संस्कृति की गहराई और श्रद्धालुओं की आस्था को दर्शाती है। आने वाले दिनों में भी लाखों श्रद्धालुओं के विभिन्न स्नान पर्वों पर प्रयागराज पहुंचने की उम्मीद है।
